Class 3 Rolling Programme
Welcome to Class 3!
We are home to Year Three and Year Four. Our class teachers are Mrs Dawson who teaches Monday to Thursday morning and Mrs Potts on Thursday afternoons and Friday. We are supported by our Teaching Assistant Mrs Caswell.
Pupils in Class 3 are expected to be able to read and write the following high-frequency and common exception words by the end of KS2. Spellings will be given out on a weekly basis including these words, alongside spelling rules that they learn in class.
KIRFS (Key Instant Recall Facts)
KIRFS are designed to support the development of the mental skills that underpin much of mathematics work in school. They are particularly useful when calculating, be it adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.
Pupils will be given out half termly KIRFS to learn at home. They should learn these facts and be able to recall them off by heart by the end of each year group and be able to apply them to calculations. If your child is not secure with the Year 2 KIRFS, please work on these with them.
